About Lizbeth

The About Me section on the right hand side of my blog has gone away...part of recent Google changes.

So for those who have an interest in the Lizbeth Dusseau, here's the info on me...

As Lizbeth Dusseau I have authored over 130 works of erotic fiction since my first novel, Alexandra's Awakening was published in 1990. I then published seven titles with Masquerade Books in the early 1990s. Then in 1994, with very few US markets for erotica, I founded Pink Flamingo Publications and served as editor-in-chief for Pink Flamingo until 2011. My novels and short story collections include General Romance Erotica, Spanking Fiction, Lesbian Erotica, and BDSM Romance, which is my favorite and most popular erotica genre. I use contemporary, historical and some futuristic settings for my settings stories.

My erotic fiction explores the many ways in which women experience erotic passion and how their sexuality plays out in their relationships, whether it's with a husband, lover, master, female friend or casual flirtation. Most of my fiction deals with themes of Dominance and submission...with the female in a submissive role. However, my female characters are not withering beauties. They have spirit, spunk, minds of their own, and create plenty of drama and tension for their male counterparts.

Above is the gist of my career in a nutshell, this is where I am now…

It’s been thirty years since I began my erotica writing career. I wrote with great fervor for many years, knocking out novel after novel, story after story, in what seemed like an endless supply that would never cease. But then burnout, weariness and eventually deep grief forced me into retirement in 2011. I’d lost the desire to write. I’d said enough about sex and I was done.

So I thought.

Then a fresh spark of inspiration (in the guise of a new man) exploded that idea in 2013 and resulted in the novel Spontaneous Combustion. The work delved into themes I’d been exploring throughout my career, and could be seen as a culmination of a fantasy that had been haunting since I was an adolescent. I consider the novel one of my best, and is certainly one of my favorites. However by 2014 when it went into print the erotica publishing market had changed dramatically. Hundreds, more likely thousands of new writers were penning their favorite fantasies hoping to be the next hot seller. I began to think of myself as a relic from another era. Spontaneous Combustion got lost midst of a world I hardly knew anymore.

Again, I put down my pen (closed my computer). The erotica world had seen the last of me.

            So I thought...

Until this winter (2018-2019) when I was nudged and prodded by my publisher, and inspired by the new man in my life to check in with my muse again to see if there was a new story to tell. And so there was. The Glass House. It's fun fresh, a bit of a departure for me...but I thoroughly enjoyed being back in front of my computer doing what I've loved.
